Overview
If you’re checking this guide out, it’s because you’re probably headed to areas such as Sunway Iskandar, Legoland Malaysia, Puteri Harbour, or Sutera Mall in JB.
There are 3 possible transport options from Tuas Checkpoint that will get you to your destination. Let’s break them down below.
Notes:
- Travel duration depends on traffic conditions at the SG-MY border.
- During peak hours or long weekends, it can take as long as 3-4 hours to cross the border.
- On the other hand, it can take just 1-2 hours during off-peak hours.
1. Public Bus From Tuas Checkpoint To JB
One way to go from Tuas Checkpoint to JB is by public bus. Inexpensive and widely available, this is the perfect choice for singles or a couple of travellers.

Causeway Link is the only operator of a public bus to JB via Tuas Checkpoint. CW buses stop at a number of popular destinations, like Legoland and Aeon Bukit Indah.
- Best Price: From SGD 4.50 to SGD 6.00 one way each.
- Not Recommended For: Families, kids, senior citizens, or big groups (4 or more people). It’d be quite a fuss to get up and down the bus at both SG-MY checkpoints as well as potentially take a connecting bus.

After immigration clearance at JB CIQ 2nd Link, you can reboard the CW3, CW4, CW4S, CW6, or CW7—if your destination in JB is within any of those bus routes.
Otherwise, you can transfer to any of the following connecting buses instead: CW3L, CW3S, CW4G, CW7L, CW7P, FC1.
Causeway Link Routes and Schedule: Search for your bus number here to view its complete route and schedule.
Tip:
- Please travel light. There is no luggage storage aboard a public bus.
Notes:
- You can pay with ManjaLink, ManjaPay, or Visa.
- Tap your card only when boarding the CW bus as CW charges a flat-rate fare, not distance-based.
2. Private Taxi From Tuas Checkpoint To JB
Sometimes things don’t go to plan. If you find yourself in need of urgent transport, you can take a private taxi from Tuas Checkpoint to JB.
- Best Price: From SGD 90 one way per car.
- Good For: Those who have the budget and need immediate transport to JB or can’t wait for the next bus.
While a private taxi is undoubtedly comfortable and convenient, this option is considered a last-resort option because of its steep price.
However, if you are concerned about any unexpected mishaps that may arise from taking public transport, opt to take a private taxi directly from Singapore to JB instead.
Note:
- Unlike taking the bus, you get to remain inside the car during immigration clearance.
3. Coach From Tuas Checkpoint To JB

Operating only from Monday to Friday and departing just once a day could be inconvenient for many people.

- You can also view the latest price and schedule via those links.
- Seats on the coach are not guaranteed and operate on a first come, first served basis.
