There are two places you can catch a ferry from Desaru: Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal (nearer to Desaru) and Tanjung Pengelih Ferry Terminal (not recommended as it’s farther).
Here’s a quick look at how to go from Desaru to Singapore by ferry:
- Buy a ferry ticket from Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT), Singapore on Batamfast.com (see below).
- On the day of travel, arrive at the ferry terminal. Collect your boarding pass from the BatamFast counter.
- Proceed to clear Malaysian immigration at Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal.
- Then, board the ferry.
- Upon arrival at TMFT, proceed to clear Singaporean immigration.
- After clearing immigration, take a taxi, Grab, or bus to your next destination in Singapore.
Notes:
- All travellers entering Singapore must fill up SG Arrival Card (SGAC) within 3 days before arriving in Singapore.
- Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, or Long-Term Pass Holders are exempted from SGAC.

A one-way ferry ticket from Desaru to Singapore costs SGD 70.00 each. This price is inclusive of surcharge and departure fees.
Desaru To Singapore Ferry Duration
The ferry journey from Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal to TMFT takes about 90 minutes.
Notes:
- But if you’re travelling during monsoon season, there’s a good chance your ferry might be diverted to Tanjung Pengelih Ferry Terminal instead of Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal.
- In that case, the ferry journey will take about 45 minutes.
- Tanjung Pengelih Ferry Terminal is located about ∼40 minutes from Desaru Coast.
Desaru To Singapore Ferry Operator & Schedule
The only ferry operator from Desaru to Singapore is BatamFast.
It departs just once a day from Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal, at 5:15pm. The ferry only operates from Thursday to Monday.
